Publication from My Doctoral Research: Ellis & Ward (2022)

I am delighted to share a publication arising from my doctoral research:

Ellis, L. & Ward, P. (2022). The effect of a high-pressure protocol on penalty shooting performance, psychological, and psychophysiological response in professional football: A mixed methods study.

Published in the Journal of Sports Sciences, this research investigated how pressure affects penalty shooting performance in professional football. Through a mixed methods approach, the study explored not only performance outcomes but also the psychological and physiological responses experienced by players when performing under pressure.

This publication reflects an important part of my doctoral journey and contributes to a growing body of research examining performance in high-pressure sporting environments. The findings offer practical implications for coaches, sport psychologists, and practitioners working to help athletes perform at their best when it matters most.
